No legs, no finish and watery. Seriously the Unruly for $7 less has a better finish and is a better wine.
I have been on the search for a good zin. "Unruly" although sweet has a nice jammy finish and is pretty good. I than purchased two other $7 bottles at BevMo and they were terrible. So I just wasted $14. I go back today and was suggested the Zynthesis. I was also told if I don't like it I can bring both bottles back and get complete credit for something else. Well I don't like it. This wine has no legs and dies on the tongue. So I will taking it back and probably going back to Unruly which has the body, finish and a nice jammy flavor but at least isn't one I would complain about.

Good Value for 5 cent sale
Good value on 5 cent sale. Very fruity, a little too easy to drink. Definitely low tannins. Maybe a little overpriced - when not on sale? I like Predator better.

Zin Girl!
Wow..........This is one of my favorites. I am so surprised at bad review from don't bother. Remember wine can go bad if exposed to heat. Maybe you left yours in the trunk?

Bang for your Buck
I would normally give this wine 4 stars, but at $17 and part of the 5 cent wine sale, this is an amazing wine for the price. It is a definitely a more fruit than earthy zin, but those are the zins I love. If you like fruit forward, jammy zins, then you will enjoy this wine.

Expected More
I expected more from a Wilford Wong 91 rating. Try Bogle Old Vine Zin you won't be disappointed.

don't bother
surprisinlg bad. I too expected a better wine with a high rating. This causes me to distrust other wines rated highly by Wilford. I would not even use this for cooking. I dumped it down the drain.

Beware of vintage before buying
I have two fundamental problems with the way that Bevmo is listing its wines and their reviews. First, in some situations such as the listing of Zynthesis Old Vine Zinfandel, the vintage year is not listed. Knowing that the quality of the wine will vary from year to year, it's quite unhelpful to review and purchase wines online without knowing what vintage year is being represented. So, I took a gamble and just purchased Zynthesis Old Vine Zinfandel from the web site. When I went to the store to pick it up, the vintage on the bottle was 2013. I notice that most of the flattering reviews for Zynthesis Old Vine Zin are dated 2011/2012 which leads me to believe these more favorable reviews are for the 2011-12 vintages. I tried the 2013 vintage and was very disappointed. This wine lacks aroma and the rich flavors that comes with most zinfandel. There isn't a lingering or memorable finish. All and all, not much to describe on this rather flat wine.

A Good House Wine
For the price, this continues to be a good buy. It is a bit fruity to the taste and doesn't pack the normal Zin intensity, but is one to add to your arsenal of inexpensive and very drinkable red wines.

Awesome!
This is one of my all time favorites. A bottle of this and a medium rare rib eye....it just doesn't get much better. Not very expensive but tastes like it is.

Best Zin around!
This is a GREAT wine. Lots of American oak plus Zin makes a spicy, flavorful treat. Buy a bunch. You'll be drinking the zin equivalent of Caymus Special Select.

An alternative to Rombauer Zinfendel
Love this wine, especially when purchased at the buy one second one at 5 cents......with shipping it still comes in at about $11/bottle. When is the next five cent sale?

nearly-zinsational
We will get a case of this on the next 5 cent sale. Not the best zin we have every had, but a great one none the less... it lacks the pepper and dryness that we like, but it has a rich berry/cherry flavor with a smooth finish..

Great cooking wine
I buy wine primarily for cooking. The better the wine, the better the result. I would not buy a $30-$50 bottle for cooking, but this works really well.

This Dog Can't Hunt
I agree with Mark N -- this wine was very disappointing. Normally old vine zin's have a robust taste and lingering finish and this wine was flat. Nothing "popped", to steal a phrase from the culinary world.
